ISA organizes national conferences, rotating across states, where anaesthesiologists present research, attend workshops, and network.
Starting in the early 1980s, ISA began CME programs alongside its annual meetings to keep practitioners up to date.
To decentralize academic exchange, ISA also holds zonal interstate meetings.
ISA supports various sub-specialty groups, such as the Ophthalmic Forum of ISA (OFISA), which later evolved into the Association of Indian Ophthalmic Anaesthesiologists (AIOA).
Through state chapters and local branches, ISA works to raise awareness about the role of anaesthesiologists, patient safety, and the importance of perioperative care.
