Rules & Regulations :
  Travel Grants : Last Date of receiving the nomination is 27 November 2012. Fifteen travel grants by merit one per state on first come first served basis will be given by ISA every year to attend the annual national conference of ISA. The amount of grant will be Rs. 1,000/- to each participant to meet the travel expenses. All the state Branches are allowed to compete as per decision in last GC meeting.
  The Selection of the candidates will be done by the State Branches on these guidelines :
   
He/She must be a member of ISA.
He/She must be a PG Student at the time when he /she read the paper in respective State Annual Conference of the year.
His/Her paper should be adjudged as the best paper form amongst the PG's who read the paper in State Annual Conference.
He/She would present the same paper in the Annual National conference of ISA immediately following the State Conference.
  Submission : He / she should submit a certificate endorsing the above facts from Hon. Secretary of ISA of respective State to ISA Secretary at HQ for inclusion in the competition before 28th of November each year. At places, where no state branches are functioning, the paper with the recommendation of the ISA City Branch Secretary will be accepted with the provision that only one paper from each state will be allowed.
  Competition for Medal : All such papers accepted for competition, would be read in one session at afternoon of 27th December every year and the President ISA will chair the session. The Vice President, ISA will be the co-coordinator of the function which is an ISA function. The Chairperson will introduce the theme of this award and the donors to the audience. The judging team will consists of (a) vice president, ISA (b) Editor, IJA (c) one Past President of ISA. Time allotted for presentation will be 7 minutes followed by 2 minutes of interaction of the chair, audience can interact with the presenter, if time available. Judging of paper will be based on the art of presentation of the paper, methodology of the work presented and the audience control while presenting and answering of the questions.
  The President ISA will declare the best paper presented at the end of the session and the winner is entitled for Dr T.N. Jha Memorial and Dr K.P. Chansoriya Medal, which will be awarded at Valedictory function following Annual General Body meeting. Please check www.isaweb.in for the states which are eligible for the year 2012

This award is for the best free paper presented (excepting T.N. Jha & Kops Awards) at the ISACON 2012. Eligible members may send 5 copies of the paper on ISA – Publications format along with conference presentation certificate on or before 31st October to the office of the HON. Secretary ISA, HQ. The Award carries a medal and citation.

Cash award of Rs. 2,000/- will be given to a Life member of ISA for the best review article published in the IJA in 2011 or accepted for the publication in the IJA. 5 copies of the Articles are to be sent to the secretary ISA, on or before 31st October 2012. The award-winning article if not published will be published in the IJA in later date. Award consists of a cash and citation.

Nomination for the Professor A.P. Singhal "Life Time Achievement" award – is invited from recognized city or state formations of ISA. Each State branch can send one nomination. Details of the nomination can be had from Hon. Secretary, ISA (HQ)/Website and completed nomination request with all needed enclosures may be submitted before 15th August each year. Award carries a citation, silver plaque and cash sum, to be presented at the Inaugural function of ISACON.


  1. Dr A.P. Singhal Past President ISA, and his family donated a sum of money to identify and honour an outstanding anesthesiologists of India, every year and to grant an award titled as "Life Time Achievement Award" from ISA. This award is given to the outstanding anaesthesiologists in India every year started in 1999, from the proceeds of the interest from the capital deposited. The award consists of cash plus a citation in a silver plaque and a Shawl, will be awarded to the individual selected every year at the annual conference inauguration function on 26th December.
  2. Any ISA Branch can nominate one of their outstanding anesthesiologists, with the State Branch recommendation for being selected to this award. Only one nomination is allowed from a branch. If there is no State Branch available, city branch can send directly to ISA HQ. If there are two nominations from city / state branch the nominations will not be valid.
  3. Nomination favoring deceased candidates will not be entertained.
  4. Any anesthesiologists of India origin working in India who is valid number of ISA and has put up more than 20 years of productive service in anesthesia specialty could be nominated. Selection of the award winner will be based on a proforma description of the nominated individual, submitted by the nominating branch and the proforma is published by ISA, taking into total consideration of academic organizational and social, medical commitment
  5. A copy of the nomination proforma is in the website: www.isaweb.in along with this letter and if interested, may fill up the nomination to sponsor one of the beloved members for this award.
  6. Application should reach ISA National Office before 30th June and the selection of the award winner will be done during the mid-term Governing Council of ISA. The City/State branch will be informed of the result for onward communication to the recipient of the award and the confirmation of the presence of award winner at the annual conference is absolutely mandatory.

Members of the ISA can apply for this Oration for the next year with their CV, before 27th November to the secretary ISA (HQ), it would be then decided by the Governing Council of ISA during Annual Governing Council Meeting.

  1. This award will be presented each year to the Anesthesiologists who have done outstanding work in the field of anesthesiology, preoperative medicine, critical care & pain management.
  2. Application to be submitted to the Secretary ISA(HQ) by 15th of June each year. All eligible applications received by the Secretary will be forwarded to a panel of judges for evaluation. Panel of Judges will be as follows:
1. Vice President ISA(HQ), 2. Editor IJA, 3. Past President of ISA in the Governing Council
  3. Professional achievements in the last 10 years in the following decreasing order of importance will be considered for evaluation
   
Invention / development of any equipment, instrument, device, procedure, drug development & development of any special teaching aids of methodology etc.
Authorship / editor ship/ reviewer ship of any text book, chapter, journal
Publication of original research articles, reviews, editorials in indexed medical journals.
Presentation of original research work, orations, guest lectures in medical journals.
Recipient of award for outstanding contribution to medical sciences, social cause, or in scientific congress.
Fellowship/degree/DM or Ph.D. examiner to any university/society/College.
Holding any important position in professional bodies & Organizational responsibilities in the form of conference, work shops, CME etc.
International contribution carries more weight age & importance for all of the above.
  4. Only life members of ISA are eligible for the award. If once applied but not awarded, the person can apply again only after 3 years. The award will be given only once in lifetime.
  5. Panel of judges will recommend maximum three names applications to midterm meeting of Governing council of ISA. Governing Council will finally decide the recipient of the award. In case of any dispute, the decision of the president ISA (HQ) will be final.
  6. This award will be presented during annual ISA conference & Includes a cash prize of Rs. 5000/- & a certificate.

  1. This award is intended to increase academic and research activities in practicing Anesthesiologists & P.G. Students working in the field of anesthesiology, preoperative medicine, critical care & pain management.
  2. Only members of ISA are eligible to participate in this competition.
  3. Preference will be given to original research work.
  4. 10 free papers will be selected from the papers submitted for poster presentation by Chairman Scientific Committee of the conference, which will be presented in a special session for final selection every year.
  5. Three judges nominated by the Chairman Scientific Committee will evaluate these 10 posters on different criteria like scientific content, presentation style etc. The presenter who gets the maximum marks will be awarded
  6. This award will be presented each year for the best research paper presented in the poster format in the ISACON.
  7. This awarded includes a certificate and cash prize.
  8. The award will be announced immediately after the poster presentation and award will be given at the valedictory session.
  9. The organizers will decide timing of poster presentation
  10. The decision of the Chairman Scientific committee for selecting the papers for the award & the decision of the judges will be final & blinding to all.
  11. It is mandatory that the first (main) author should be the presenting author and the award will only be given to the first author.
